When looking across the spectrum of women in the U.S., we come in all shapes and sizes.
The U.S. average adult female is 5 feet, 3-3/4 inches tall
and weighs 135 pounds.

Petite-proportioned clothing is designed for women 5'4" or less.

Petite sizes are about height & proportion, not weight!

Petite clothing will generally have shorter inseams, skirt & sleeve lengths.

Lapels, collars & cuffs, and even patterns and prints may be scaled down as well.

Petite women range in size from 0 to 20, fitting hips measuring 31" to 47"!

In addition, many clothing lines are beginning to offer

women's petite sizes from 12WP -24WP, allowing for hips from 41" to 51-1/2"

The FIRST step to getting the right look is a good fit:

Use a fabric tape measure and  write down your bust, waist and hip measurements.

Next, compare your own measurements to the  sizing charts of the specific brand or manufacturer.

You might be surprised to find you wear a size 4 in one brand and a size 6  in another one.

"While the Women's Movement was considered a success years ago,

many of us are still held hostage by the size tag of the clothes in our closets."

You've seen the pictures in fashion magazines... the 'real women' captured in photos of

too tight pants or a tummy rolling over a waistband.

Wearing the next size up that fits correctly and hangs properly will actually make you look pounds lighter,

instead of pouring yourself into a piece of clothing that is pulling at every seam.
